March | All The Yes

Do you ever get that overwhelming feeling of excitement? Like “YES, this is exactly how life is supposed to be!” I’ve been getting that feeling a lot this month, reflecting on all the people in my life and all the new people I’ve been able to meet.

I remember so clearly the night I went downstairs to my dad’s office and cried asking him to help me pray for more friends. Oh, if I could just go back in time and hug that twenty-something girl and tell her all about the amazing people that will be in her life. It’s those people that make me whole. Part of my success is because of the support group around me. Even though I am a one woman show, I am nothing without them. If you listen to the podcast, we talk all time about people needing a board of directors.

It’s simple; you need three people:

  • Someone above you: A mentor or someone you can have in your corner that has been on this earth longer than you have.

  • Someone on the same path as you:  A person going through the same stages of life as you

  • Someone you are bringing along: A person that’s in the process of learning that you can help. I’m a firm believer that you don’t truly absorb what you are learning until you teach another person.

You HAVE to have them! And it can’t just be people you “look up to” or instagram friends you casually interact with. You have to tell them they are a part of your board. They are my secret weapon- I 100% believe I wouldn’t be growing and be where I am today without them.

High/low started when my parents always asked how our day was. “Fine” - dad hated this answer so High/low was created. 3 simple questions; What was the high part of your day? What was the low part and what did we learn.? I love it. Do it at the dinner table the next time you are with friends/ family!

High: Too many to pick this month

Another book tour stop in my favorite city, The one year anniversary episode of Breakfast With Sis podcast recorded at the largest Chick-fil-a in the country, I’m another year older and celebrated with a birthday party (I haven't had a birthday party since I was 10!)

Low: Running out of gas

I ran out of gas on my birthday and was stranded on the side of the road with a friend for two hours.. But I did say I wanted to spend more time with my friends outside this year, so I guess I accomplished that.

Thanks for joinging me on my "birthday lunch" and thank you for continuously following along and keeping up with me! Remember, you can always message me questions or comments! I love to hear from you!
