August | Slow Down

Time seems to be going by way too fast. There are days that I can’t even remember what I had for breakfast. Basically, if it’s not written down on my planner - forget about it! When my week gets so busy it almost feels mediocre. Nothing stands out to me and I feel like I’m just going through the motions. But in reality, there are so many little moments that can get easily lost in the busyness - things that should be appreciated and celebrated - and yet there’s not enough time because I have to move on to the next thing.

For example: I was selected for a huge mural project and was literally on cloud nine, but because I had so much busy work surrounding the good news, I couldn’t even remember it by the time the weekend rolled around...Dad had to remind me. SMH how sad is that!

This is why high/low is so important for me. It makes me stop and think about those moments in my week that I might have missed otherwise. And like I said before if I don’t write it down, it didn’t happen. So my new goal is to start writing down all my highs and lows of each week so nothing gets skimmed over.

If you've listened to our podcast you know that one of our major topics of conversation between Dad and I is High/Low. We swear by this when having conversations with family or friends. Plus it helps you reflect on your week.

My summer tan is fading. I’m really going to miss being by the pool and midnight 7/11 runs
